Discover the secrets of Egypt with this 9-day tour visiting all the great sites including the Great Pyramids in Cairo before heading to Luxor and Aswan in the Nile Valley and enjoying a luxurious Nile cruise.
Itinerary for the trip as follows:
Day 1: Fly to Egypt . Arrive in Cairo where a representative will meet you in the airport, assist with visa formalities, help you collect your luggage and transfer you to your hotel close to the Pyramids for the start of your trip.
Overnight: Cairo – 4* hotel. Meals: As per airline service
Day 2: Cairo Museum and Pyramids tour . In the morning our local team will give a pre-tour briefing, introduce you to your Egyptologist guide and explain the arrangements for the next few days. Your tour of Egypt then begins with a trip to the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo, home to the renowned Tutankhamen exhibit and Egyptian artefacts. You will then make the short trip to Giza to visit the Sphinx and the great pyramids of Egypt. In the evening you will be transferred to the station for the overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Day 3: Arrive in Aswan. Tour of Philae Temple . Be welcomed on board the luxury Nile cruise boat, La Terrasse, where you will enjoy a welcome drink and check in. Then start the tour of Aswan with a trip to the island temple complex of Philae visiting the impressive Aswan High Dam en-route. The Philae temple remains one of Egypt’s most romantic and picturesque sites having been completely relocated following work on the Dam. The rest of the day is free to explore the colourful souks and markets found in the town or watch the sunset over the river Nile.
Overnight: Aswan - Nile cruise boat. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Day 4: Aswan. with an optional Tour to Abu Simbel and begin sailing downriver . Begin with an early start for the drive to the UNESCO world heritage site at Abu Simbel (optional Extra). Return to Aswan for lunch and later start sailing north up the Nile towards Komombo. Relax on the sun deck, watching traditional Egyptian life pass you by on the banks of the Nile. The boat also features a plunge pool. After visiting the temple at Komombo, sail on to Edfu and overnight.

Day 5: Nile Cruise – Komombo and Edfu. Enjoy more sailing and a visit to Edfu Temple where a private horse drawn carriage will take you from the boat to visit the Legendary Temple of Horus, the best preserved and second largest temple in Egypt. Then return to the boat and continue sailing towards Luxor. Enjoy lunch and dinner on board.

Day 6: Luxor. East bank tour and free time. Enjoy a free morning and check out of the cruise boat and into a 5-star hotel on the banks of the Nile. Use your time to Explore Luxor's markets, museums, take a felucca sailboat trip on the Nile or relax by the hotel pool. Later in the afternoon enjoy a walking tour of the beautiful Luxor Temple, spectacularly lit up. This incredible monument was built over 4000 years ago and represents the epoch of the once mighty city of Thebes and the worship of God.

Day 7: Luxor. Optional hot air balloon flight. West Bank tours. This morning you have an option to take a spectacular sunrise hot air balloon flight over the West Bank of the Nile. Later, start the tour of the West Bank at the Valley of the Kings. The dusty tombs in this ancient burial site are still revealing their secrets today and it remains one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Also visit the huge temple of Hatchepsut, see the deep carved and colourful hieroglyphs at Medinat Habu and pass the towering Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, check out of the hotel and visit the enormous temple complex at Karnak on the East bank of the Nile. Karnak’s immense Hypostyle Hall alone contains the phenomenal sight of 134 towering columns of intricate stonework. Then transfer to the train station for the overnight sleeper train back to Cairo.

Day 8: Cairo. Free Day (various day trip options). Arrive back in Cairo and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Cairo as you choose or join one of our optional day trips including a city tour in Cairo which visits the Citadel and Mohamed Ali Mosque as well as the bustling market streets of Khan El Khalili bazaar. Other options include a trip out of Cairo to the World Heritage Site of Wadi Rayan and the Valley of the Whales.
